This modified sulphate is an effective cleansing agent — its a surfactant, which dissolves the barrier between dirt and oil on your skin, scalp and hair, allowing this to be rinsed away easily with water — but doesn’t feature the irritating, sensitising or drying attributes we often associate with traditional sulphates. Instead, it helps to maintain the skin barrier — both on your body and your scalp — to keep it hydrated and healthy.
